Jim Jermanok

Director, Writer, Producer

Jim Jermanok is an award-winning writer, director and producer, creative success expert, consultant and speaker. Jim wrote and produced the New England romantic comedy "Passionada," which was released by Columbia Tri-Star in over 150 countries. It appeared at the Newport and Providence Film Festivals among many others. His latest film "Em" recently won the Grand Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Criterion International Inspiration Award. It was released last year by Vanguard Cinema and SnagFilms. He is also active in theatre, TV and New Media. Jermanok is a former ICM Agent who helped to represent Arthur Miller, Shirley MacLaine, Dudley Moore, Helen Hayes, Alan Arkin and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, among others. Jim also speaks and conducts workshops worldwide on the subject of his upcoming book, BEYOND THE CRAFT: What You Need to Know to Make a Living Creatively, as well as Successful Film Producing and Financing and The Art and Business of Screenwriting.

Mary Niederkorn

Writer, Producer

 

Mary Niederkorn is a professional opera singer, film and stage actress, and filmmaker. Highlights of her career include her critically acclaimed performance in the lead role of W;t for Salem Theatre Company, which was directed by Sarah Carlin, daughter of Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen. Last year, her performance as the social worker Susan in the film The Commitment won a 2013 Media Award for Best Film from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), beating out Hollywood-backed films Moonrise Kingdom and What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which were nominated for the performances of Tilda Swinton and Kim Fields respectively. Speed Dating, a film Mary wrote and produced, was screened at five film festivals and won Best Director in the Experimental Film Genre at the American International Film Festival. Mary has trained with internationally renowned acting coach Larry Moss and also spent over six years training at the east coast branch of Carter Thor Studio, founded by Cameron Thor and Alice Carter following their work with legendary coach Roy London.  She is working on producing a one woman show about male impersonators at the turn of the last century, The Girl I left Behind Me, by Neil Bartlett and Jessica Walker this summer. Currently she is performing at ImprovBoston in History 101 by James Ferguson.

Albert M. Chan

Actor

 

Albert M. Chan's film and TV roles include 30 Rock, Law & Order SVU, Body of Proof, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Makeover, and Brotherhood. He has been cast by directors such as Spike Lee, Greg Mottota, Henry Bromell, and Mark Waters to act opposite Helen Hunt, Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles, Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Justin Long, Larry David, Cybill Shepherd, and Mariska Hargitay. As a filmmaker, Albert is the recipient of a Puffin Foundation Grant and a finalist for the Roy W. Dean Film Grant. He wrote, directed, and produced his first film Fate Scores, an experimental silent film which was recognized by the National Film Board of Canada. He directed and starred in his follow-up film, The Commitment, which has screened at over 25 film festivals on four continets and won multiple awards, most notably edging out Oscar-nominated Moonrise Kingdom to win a 2013 NASW Media Award. Albert's third film, Descendants of the Past, Ancestors of the Future, stars Golden Globe, Emmy and Drama Desk Nominee Tina Chen.
